The Taber Abrasion Tester is used to determine the abrasion resistance of organic coatings produced on a plane, rigid surface. The sample panel can be 100 mm diameter disc or 100 × 100 mm square panel with rounded corners and a 6.3 mm center hole. The weighted specimen is mounted on a turntable disc, while the abrasive wheel applies load on the test film. The abrasion resistance varies according to the applied load. This tester is widely used in quality & process control, R&D, and material evaluation across industries such as coatings, textiles, leather, rubber, plastics, wood, glass, paper, laminates, and ceramics. Water Spray Off Tester

WATER SPRAY OFF TESTER As per ASTM D 4049 Water spray off tester evaluates the ability of a lubricating grease to adhere to a metal surface when subjected to a direct water spray under controlled conditions. The percentage of grease sprayed off a stainless steel test panel after a specified period is determined by weight. - It Conforms to ASTM D4049 specifications The equipment including spray chamber, delivery system and constant temperature reservoir. It Sprays water at the specified rate and temperature on a test panel coated with sample grease. To test for water spray resistance, fill reservoir with 8L of tap water and set the temperature comtroller at test temperature. Circulate the water through the system to attain temperature equilibrium and insert the coated test panel in the spray chamber. Adjust water spray to 40psi (276kPa) and continue for 5 minutes. Water spray system includes 1.3hp positive displacement pump; spray nozzle with snubber fitting: 0-60psi pressure gauge; bypass valve; shut-off and drain valves; and flexible high pressure water lines. Hinged acrylic spray chamber cover is recessed into the chamber housing to insure watertight operation. Standardized grease application fixture coats test panel with the required thickness of sample grease. Uses tap water; does not require water hook-up. Copper Corrosion Bath as per ASTM D130 The copper Strop Corrosion bath determines the relative degree of corrosivity of petroleum products. The copper strip is immersed in 30 ml of oil sample at elevated temperature. After the completion of test , the copper strip is examined for presence of corrosion and a classification number from 1- 4 is assigned based on a comparison with the ASTM Copper Strip Corrosion Standard Charts. For aviation fuels and natural gasoline the sample tube is placed inside a stainless steel bomb during testing.
