Gassing Tendency Apparatus
As per ASTM D-2300, BS 5797:1986, IEC 628:1985
This standard describes two procedures each using different apparatus to measure the tendency of insulating liquids to evolve or absorb gas when subjected, in cells having specific geometries, to electrical stress of sufficient intensity to cause an electric discharge through a gas phase in which a gas-oil interface is located.
Construction : Inner bath made stainless steel 304, outer body made stainless steel with glass window.
Circulation system: Heavy duty capacitor run motor with stirrer to help maintain uniform temperature across bath media.
Heater : Immersion heater fitted to help achieve above ambient temperature. Heater connected to PID output heater wiring done using Teflon coated cable.
Temperature controller & instrumentation : Fully automatic microprocessor based PID controller having feather touch key board. Display indicating temperature with resolution of 0.01& the controller is having splash proof membrane with PT -100 sensors.

The apparatus consists of. . .
Gassing cell and gas burette assembly
Hollow high voltage electrode.
Heating device.
Transparent safety shield.
High voltage transformer 10 KV, + 2%.
Air / Moisture Filtration System
Power supply : 230 V ,1 Phase, 50 Hz.
