ASTM Solvent Distillation Apparatus is used to separate the mixture of liquid solvent and petroleum products. The appratus determines initial boiling point, final boiling point, dry point , % of residue remains and % of material recovered. It consists of a water bath having outer chamber made of epoxy powdear coated. Inner chamber made of stainless steel with condenser tube, heating unit with regulator for controlling the temperature, measuring cylinder, flask with IP standard and thermometer -10°C to 360°C. It is widely used in paint and coating industries, oil and solvent, other liquid mixture. Copper Corrosion Bath as per ASTM D130 The copper Strop Corrosion bath determines the relative degree of corrosivity of petroleum products. The copper strip is immersed in 30 ml of oil sample at elevated temperature. After the completion of test , the copper strip is examined for presence of corrosion and a classification number from 1- 4 is assigned based on a comparison with the ASTM Copper Strip Corrosion Standard Charts. For aviation fuels and natural gasoline the sample tube is placed inside a stainless steel bomb during testing. Circulation system – Heavy duty capacitor run motor with stirrer to help maintain uniform temperature across bath media. Heater – immersion heater fitted to help achieve above ambient temperature. Heater connected to PID output heater wiring done using Teflon coated cable Temperature controller & instrumentation - fully automatic microprocessor based PID controller having feather touch key board.
